Gene Feroglia, CEO

As a co-founder and senior executive, Gene Feroglia has been instrumental in the formation and management of several startups. His expertise includes building strategic alliances, negotiating equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, and developing and executing innovative sales and marketing strategies. Mr. Feroglia served most recently as the President and CEO of iSurfTV Corp. iSurfTV developed a unique Electronic Programming Guide to make it easier to search the ever increasing amount of digital content. At iSurfTV he raised $13 million in venture capital, established strategic relationships with Motorola and the National Cable Television Cooperative and later sold the company to The Tribune Co. Mr. Feroglia previously served as President of HoTV - a startup working on scene detection technologies for digital video. Prior to HoTV, he was EVP, Corporate Development at Carsmart.com where he refocused the Company on search engine referrals and personally negotiated the merger of CarSmart with Autobytel. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President of ParaGraph International, a 3-D tools company that he helped sell to Silicon Graphics. Previously he was interim President of Knowledge Adventure Worlds, a pioneer in 3-D interactive applications on the web, where he helped raise over $15 million in equity funding.

The early part of his career was spent with IBM, where he held a variety of sales and marketing positions. Mr. Feroglia holds a BS in Business Administration from San Diego State University and he is a graduate of the Harvard Advanced Business Institute.

Ted Selker, CTO

Dr. Ted Selker is known for creating and guiding strategic technology opportunities. Ted Selker was most recently director of Considerate Systems research at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley where he has also helped develop the campus's research mission and helped develop the graduate research program. He is well known as a creator and tester of new scenarios for working with computing systems.

Ted spent ten years as an associate Professor at the MIT Media Laboratory where he created the Context Aware Computing group, directed a CI/IDI: kitchen of the future/ product design of the future project and co-directed the Caltech/MIT Voting Technology Project. His work is noted for creating demonstrations of a more considerate world in which intentions are recognized and respected by the systems people use. Ted's work takes the form of prototyping concept products supported by cognitive science research.

His successes at product creation and enhancement earned him the technical executive position IBM Fellow. There, he created R&D programs and was senior manager of User Systems Ergonomics Research. He worked across the company to foster innovative technology business opportunities. At IBM, he gave a grant to fund Google founders search work at Stanford. He has also served as a consulting professor at Stanford University, taught at Hampshire, University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Brown Universities and worked at Xerox PARC and Atari Research Labs. He created demonstration products at companies like Amazon, Xerox PARC, ATARI.

Ted has worked closely with Otopy's Dan Kikinis in the development of Otopy's AI Index Engine. His visualizations have improved the performance of the PowerPC, Google maps, and usability of OS/2 and ThinkPad. His adaptive help system has been used by tens of millions of PC users as well. Ted's work has resulted in numerous awards, patents, and papers, and has often been featured in the press.

Boris Erlikhman, Ph.D., Vice President Engineering

Boris Erlikhman joined Otopy with more than 20 years' experience as a software engineer, primarily on the Windows, Linux and UNIX platforms. He has a wide range of experience in the areas of web services and applications, databases, computer storage, virtualization, kernels and system management. Boris most recently worked as CMTS at Oracle, where he was one of the key engineers of the Exadata Database Machine– a top Oracle product of 2009-2011. Previously he served as President of Tring Consulting, where he managed several custom software development projects. Before that, he was a Technical Lead for Hewlett-Packard where he participated in the design and development of Data Protector, a backup and restore solution. Prior to that, he was cofounder of 3Cube Inc., where he participated in the architecture, design and development of a set of hosted web services. 3Cube was sold to Oracle Corp. Boris earned an MS from the Moscow Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. from the Federal Railway Research Institute (VNIIGT), Moscow, Russia.

Vladimir Lipkin, System Architect, Engineering

Vladimir Lipkin has over 20 years of software development experience, with expertise are in the areas of multi-tier applications and distributed systems design, databases and data processing, algorithm development and optimization. He previously worked for Memonet, Inc. where he developed text analyzing tools to build relationships between newspaper articles. He previously served as an architect and senior engineer with Corrigo, Inc., where he developed a web-based service management solution with a real-time flow of information between customers, technicians and management. Before that he developed specialized tools for accessing and manipulating an Oracle repository for Soluton Inc. At CamSystems, Inc. he designed scheduling systems for managing the sale of television ad time. Mr. Lipkin earned a BS and an MS from the Moscow Institute of Technology in Russia.
